Release Date Confirmed for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Posted Apr 14, 2019 by DarthHazard

Not long after the release of the trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a release date has been confirmed for the game. The game, set to be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, will launch on the 15th of November 2019.

The game has been in development since Stig Asmussen joined Respawn Entertainment back in 2014. For those who might not know Stig, he is well known for working on the God of War series. And after an official announcement at E3 in 2018, fans will be delighted to finally get a release date for the game, especially one that isn’t too far off.

And just before fans were given a release date, the first trailer for the game was shown. The trailer follows the protagonist, Cal as he tries to keep his head down and avoid standing out. As one of the last Jedi who survived order 66, Cal must do whatever it takes to survive in the world whilst the Empire comes after any of the remaining Jedi. As previously confirmed, the game will allow you to hone your lightsabre combat skills to allow you to strike, block and dodge enemies. Furthermore, players will be able to explore a large number of areas that range from windswept cliffs to haunted jungles as you try to seek out artefacts to learn more about Cal’s Jedi roots.

The single-player game was confirmed to be a story-driven game with no multiplayer or microtransactions earlier. After the massive uproar and upset that EA caused with microtransactions in one of their other titles, Star Wars Battlefront 2, it’s not surprising to see the game take this direction with the lack of microtransactions. However, expect to see some sort of additional paid DLC as EA will be trying to cash in as much as possible from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Fans will be hoping that the game follows in the path of Respawn Entertainment and EA’s project Apex Legends which has proved extremely popular with gamers around the world and continues to do well.

  • Not too sure how I feel about this- on one hand, I'm fond of the Star Wars franchise because it brings back such great memories, and on the other hand, the Star Wars franchise has just been expanding and growing so much over the past few years that it's getting slightly old and all the plotlines for games, movies, books, etc. all just seem the same to me.

I'll just wait with my purchase for a few months after release. I don't trust EA not to pull an Activision and put microtransactions in later down the line or simply release a poor quality game.
