Epic Games Infuriates Fans Further With Turbo Building Nerf

It wasn’t too long along that Epic Games were being praised for being a company that made a difference by listening to its fans and regularly updating a free game.

But it seems the loving relationships between Epic and its fans has come to an end with Epic infuriating fans further by making a change to Turbo Building with the latest patch.

Turbo Building was a setting that allowed players to speed up the placement of builds by simply holding down the primary fire button. This was used by a large variety of users including competitive players, streamers and casual gamers.

Previously, there was a 0.05 second gap between Turbo Build placements if you held your button down but with this patch, it was increased to 0.15 seconds. Whilst, it may not sound like much, it has made a huge difference to the way players can build.

According to Epic, this change was completed to take away the advantage that some players with long ping had by placing a wall before another player or even “continually rebuilding a wall that is taking a damage”. Additionally, the aim is to stop “spam building” and instead have building has is more “deliberate”.

Many fans of the game weren’t happy with the changes especially since many are still unhappy with Epic’s decision to keep the B.R.U.T.E in the game. They see this as another change that is trying to favor players that struggle to play and build well in Fortnite.

And just like with the B.R.U.T.E, it seems that Epic knows that fans aren’t happy and are looking at “working to implement the following further changes”:

  • Replace initial building and turbo building delay with rate of fire logic.
  • Enforce rate of fire for contested pieces.

Are you happy with the changes to Turbo Building? And do you agree that these changes have been made to try and cater to lesser skilled players in Fortnite? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
