GTA 5 Is Currently Free On The Epic Games Store

As Epic Games continues to try and rake in more users from Steam, they’ve decided to provide Grand Theft Auto V as a freebie for its users for a limited time.

Starting today, the massive and popular open-world title will be available to download for free. The free download will be for the whole game as well so players will have access to the single-player campaign and the multiplayer portion – GTA Online. And it’s not just a limited time play either, with players able to keep the game forever.

Make sure to redeem this offer quickly though as you only have until the 21st of May to download GTA 5 before the next free game on the Epic Games Store appears.

This offer comes not long after Grand Theft Auto V was removed as a title for the Xbox Game Pass service. However, another Rockstar game did enter the service, their latest game, Red Dead Redemption 2.

You may have to wait a little while before diving into the beautiful city of Los Santos though as it seems the Epic Games Store is encountering some server problems due to the large number of users trying to get GTA V. It seems to have extended into other Epic services as well with Fortnite also encountering issues on both PC and Mac.

Are you looking forward to playing Grand Theft Auto V? And will you be trying the campaign or multiplayer first? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
