EA Access Coming To PlayStation This July

EA Access, the gaming subscription service from Electronic Arts will be arriving to PlayStation this July.

The news, confirmed today by the publisher, will be music to the eyes of many PlayStation 4 gamers who have had to stand aside and watch as PC and Xbox gamers enjoyed EA Access.

The subscription service will allow gamers to enjoy access to a large library of EA games and other perks including a 10% discount on full-priced EA games when purchasing from the Xbox or PlayStation store and access to early trials of yet to be released EA games. Additionally, progress made during trials before the game launches will carry over to the full game allowing players to get a head start which can make a huge difference for online modes like Ultimate Team in FIFA.

FIFA players have utilised EA Access previously to get a head start on the next FIFA title by buying high-demand players in anticipation of selling them for a higher price when the game is released.

The service will set users back $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year and will act as a different subscription to EA Access on Xbox One meaning you can’t share one subscription between different consoles.

The games that will be available to gamers as part of the subscription service are yet to be confirmed although gamers should expect to see a more limited list of games to choose from. Unfortunately, this will be due to the lack of backwards compatibility on the PS4 which Xbox One enjoys and allows access to the older games from the 360 on the Xbox One.
