US gamers with a PlayStation will now have an added incentive to earn trophies from the games they played. Gamers will be able to trade their trophies for PSN credit.

Sony Rewards will now allow gamers to gain points for trophies that they have earned by gaming. 100 points will be rewarded for 100 silver trophies, 250 for 25 gold trophies and 1,000 points for 10 platinum trophies. The current rate for points to dollars is 1000 points - $10.

The points for trophies aren't exactly enough for you to get that triple AAA title you have been after for a while but who doesn't love a freebie? Unfortunately, Sony Rewards is exclusive to US gamers.
