Xbox Series X Prototype Port Setup Leaked

Posted Jan 22, 2020 by DarthHazard

Images of the Xbox Series X’s casing has been leaked online which has revealed the rear ports that gamers should expect from the console at launch.

The images were first shared on NeoGAF, later being confirmed as the real deal by various reliable sources. And if that wasn’t enough to convince you, a Twitter user later registered the device using the serial number from the images on his Microsoft account.

The images showcasing the rear of the Xbox Series X confirms that there are will be a figure-eight power input, two USB ports, Ethernet input, Toslink audio, a HDMI 2.1 output and a Kensington lock if that’s something that tickles your fancy.

If you’ve noticed the port next to the HDMI port, you’ll have to wait a little longer to find out what its purpose is. Various rumours about the nature of the port have been circulating with some stating that it is most likely a diagnostic port (if so, it won’t appear on the console when it launches) whilst others are hoping its for expandable storage.

Whilst the images may well be authentic, it’s important to remember that this may not be the final product. There is a large time period before the console launches and it’s entirely possible that Microsoft changes the design or decides to add a few extra ports to the rear.

Let's hope that the person who received this prototype doesn't get into too much trouble. The serial number will most likely help Microsoft identify who the leaker is.

Are you looking forward to seeing what the Xbox Series X will feature? And do you believe that these images are authentic? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
