Swimming Added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons

With players recently complaining about the lack of content in New Horizons, Nintendo has revealed a summer update for the popular Nintendo Switch game that will add a long-awaited feature, swimming.

Animal Crossing New Summer Update

A series of free updates will arrive for the game over the summer period and beyond that will add a whole host of new features including the ability to swim & dive.

The first update will be made available on the 3rd of July and will add the following features and characters to the game:

  • Swimming & Diving – Players will finally be able to don a wet suit and explore the island below the waves. Dive into the water and discover and scoop up sea creatures that inhabit the ecosystem of your island. The wet suit needed for swimming and diving will be available from Timmy & Tommy’s shop for around 3000 Bells. Or trade in 800 Nook Miles to get your hands on a Nook Inc. wet suit.
  • Pascal – Keep an eye out for Pascal whilst swimming. He loves scallops and will share some of his favourite mermaid-themed DIY recipes with you in exchange for them.
  • Gulliver – Don’t just keep an eye out for Pascal either. A familiar face may arrive on your island shores from time to time. Make sure to give him a helping hand as you may just get your hands on a special reward.

Another summer update is set to be released during the month of August so keep an eye out for that as well.

Are you excited for the first New Horizons summer update? And will you be going swimming? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
