If there is one thing that fans are happy about Battlefront 2, it's the fact that EA won't be charging for any DLC which will all be released for free to all players.

The first season of updates will begin this month and will be themed around the Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi film. And this season began with players choosing either the First Order or the New Republic for whom they would have to represent over the season. Players will be given different quests that drop every week which will also drop rewards that correspond to the side you chose.

“Completing these will not only reward you with Credits and Crafting Parts, but help edge your faction closer to victory, giving all members of that side additional rewards. The other faction will get a Crate of their own with lesser prizes, but it will hopefully come with a drive to fight back even harder. Victory in the week is but one step towards overall success, and a bigger reward at the end of the Season.”

The first challenge sees players tasked with "getting 50 kills with each trooper class". Players can stack challenges and have until the end of the Season to complete each challenge.

Players will also receive a large number of new additions to the game on the 13th of December when two new heroes (Captain Phasma/Finn), a Galactic Assault map, a Starfighter Assault map, and the A-Wing is added to the game. These additions will be for the multiplayer side of the game, however, a brand new mission called Resurrection will be included for the single-player. All content will be available on all platforms (PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC).
