SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom Is Getting A Remaster

SpongeBob lovers rejoice because the classic SpongeBob game, Battle for Bikini Bottom is getting a remastered version for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC!
The original cult classic released back in 2003 hasn’t been given a release date yet although, unfortunately, it isn’t expected to be anytime close as the game will not just be the same game with some small changes.
The steam page for the game states that it will feature “high-end visuals, modern resolutions and carefully polished gameplay” and a “brand new horde mode multiplayer for up to two players, online and split screen”. And that’s not it. Previous and new players will be happy to hear that restored content that was originally cut from the 2003 game including the Robo Squidward boss fight has been restored for the remastered version.
For those that couldn’t experience all the SpongeBob goodness 16 years ago, the game will see you play as SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy as you try to show Plankton that crime will pay even less than Mr. Krabs!
“The appetite for Nickelodeon content old and new continues to grow and it’s exciting to bring our beloved content to new audiences through this partnership with THQ Nordic”
It’s not only SpongeBob SquarePants that will be arriving on our gaming platforms either as THQ Nordic is planning to bring a whole host of classic favourites back including Avatar: The Last Airbender, Jimmy Neutron, Rugrats and The Fairly OddParents (although Fairly OddParents will only be available in the United States).
Are you looking forward to playing the remastered version of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom? And which character are you looking forward to playing as? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
