Skull and Bones Delayed To 2022 or 2023

When Ubisoft announced a brand new pirate adventure game at E3 in 2017, many would have expected to have been playing it by now or at the least, getting ready for an imminent launch.

But avid pirates may have to wait just a little longer because it has now been confirmed that the game has now been delayed to 2022-2023. The announcement was hidden in the company’s yearly earnings report for 2020, although an official announcement for gamers may arrive soon.

25 minutes of Skull & Bones gameplay

This is not the first time Skull and Bones has been delayed, with two official delays coming in close proximity in both 2018 and 2019.

Whilst there is yet to be any news on why the delay has been made, it may be a continuation of the delay that was previously announced where the team at Ubisoft “simply needed more time”. This was due to the team dreaming “something bigger for Skull & Bones, and these ambitions naturally came with bigger challenges”.

Skull and Bones, developed by Ubisoft Singapore, was initially set to be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC but with this delay, players may be inclined to think that a release for the new generation consoles may also be made available when the game eventually launches.
