Reports that the PlayStation Network is down have been surfacing on various different platforms, with many PlayStation 4 users reporting having trouble signing into PSN and playing games.

Reports first started coming in from around 17:00 BST, with outage monitoring service Down Detector reporting players in Europe having the most issues with the PlayStation Network.

The majority of users are reporting that they are having problems signing into the network itself, with others complaining of issues with gameplay and social features.

Social features such as joining or creating a party are currently not working, with many players facing an endless loading display when trying to create a brand new party.

The PlayStation Network Service Status section of the PS website states that all services are up and running although they have posted the below message for those encountering issues:

“PlayStation™Network services are up and running, but there are external, internet-wide issues that may affect your experience. Once these external issues are resolved, you should have no problem connecting to PlayStation™Network.” ~ PlayStation Network Service Status

Twitter users have been clamouring to receive some assistance from the PlayStation support accounts but have only been receiving the same response that external, internet-wide issues are at fault.

Users will not be happy with what is another somewhat recent outage with the PlayStation Network especially with users from certain countries having their annual membership price increased a few months back.
