Overtime Challenges Return With Fortnite V10.40.1 Patch

Posted Oct 02, 2019 by DarthHazard

The latest Fortnite patch has arrived and as we get closer to the end of Season X, it’s time for players to have fun with the Overtime Challenges which will return on the 8th of October.

The Out of Time Overtime objections will reward players with XP, cosmetics and even a commemorative Loading Screen. The objectives will be available from the 8th of October at 9 AM ET until the 13th of October at 2 PM ET.

Season X has also been extended by a week which will give players plenty of time to finish their Battle Passes. This also means that the Gotham City and the Batman Caped Crusader Pack will be available for slightly longer until the end of Season X.

As with every patch, a weapon has been unvaulted and with this patch, it is the turn of the Flint-Knock Pistol.

Players that have enjoyed Zone Wars can continue to do so. Zone Wars Desert, Vortex, Colosseum and Downhill River LTMs have now been merged into two limited time mode playlists and players will have to play one of the playlists to play one of the maps at random.

Players that were experiencing issues with The Combine will be happy to hear that this has been resolved. Players should not encounter any difficulties queuing up for the mode and this also means that it has been re-enabled for iOS and Android devices.

Whilst still not perfect, the Nintendo Switch Fortnite experience will be slightly better with a few performance changes that have been made. Firstly, a level streaming issue has been resolved which previously resulted in players landing in low-detail environments on the Switch. Additionally, some CPU optimizations have been made for the Switch to help improve the framerate in some heavy scenes.

Save the World players can “help our last driver, Beat Bot, make its trek through the Strangelands en route to the Radio Station”.

Players that complete the Escort Beat Bot quest will be rewarded with a special Hit the Road Loading Screen as well.

Are you looking forward to the Overtime challenges this Season? And have you managed to finish the Season X Battle Pass? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
