PlayStation 4 gamers that haven’t bought Monster Hunter World yet will be happy to hear that a free trial is currently live on the PlayStation Store that will be up and running until the 20th of May.
The trial will allow gamers to play with content from the full game until the completion of the Tobi-Kadachi assignment quest at Hunter Rank 4. Players will be able to start their journey, create their Hunter and Palico companion and take advantage of all features that the full game has to offer.
For those looking for a multiplayer experience, the ability to play alongside other hunters online will also be allowed.
“Let’s not underestimate the amount of content packed into those early missions. You’ll get to explore two ample environments, each with a variety of monsters to hunt, vistas to take in, endemic life to discover, lots of gear to craft, 14 different weapon types to try out and Palico gear.”
And for those that do enjoy the game and want to go ahead and enjoy the full experience of hunting, the game is currently on sale on both the PlayStation and Xbox digital stores for just $19.99. Additionally, all progress made during the free trial will be carried on which means you can pick up from where you left off.
The offer of the free trial has been made to try and gain some new gamers in time for the release of the yet to be released Iceborne expansion. The expansion set to be released on the 6th of September for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will have a slightly later release date of some time in Winter for PC and Steam.
The expansion will bring with it a new story, new environment and expanded gameplay. The new environment coming to Monster Hunter World will be a “remote part of the New World, a land of extreme conditions where the cold is so intense you’ll need to outfit yourself with specific gear and items to keep warm during your hunts”.
The expansion is currently available to pre-order digitally for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and will set interested gamers back $39.99.
