The latest Fortnite patch has arrived today and with it comes a brand new rift zone and some old fan-favorite limited-time modes.

The new rift zone has turned Mega Mall back into Retail Row. But don’t expect the same old peaceful experience of shopping around as “bargain-crazed Fiends are spawning in the Rift Zone, and they want the shopping center all to themselves”.

A series of new and old limited-time modes will be appearing in the game over the next few days and weeks as well. The first LTM will be the World Run LTM (squads) which will see players “dip, dodge, and duck through treacherous traps, lava pits, and more to become the world’s fastest lane runner”. The first team to collect 30 coins will win the whole LTM. This is a creative LTM that was featured at the recent World Cup so wins won’t count or be recorded.

The Sword Fight Squads & Duos LTM will also return in the future which will feature the Infinity Blade.

After upsetting a lot of casual and competitive players, Epic has decided to update the B.R.U.T.E slightly which includes a new targeting laser that will appear as players load and fire missiles. “This is to help give clarity to all players on where a gunner is aiming their rockets before they’re fired”. The spawn rate of the B.R.U.T.E per Storm Circle has also been reduced but only in Arena and Tournament playlists.

Players that like to be a little trigger happy with their pickaxe will be happy to know that with this patch, chests and ammo containers that are destroyed will now open and drop their contents. Epic is aware of an issue where if you build and a chest/ammo container is destroyed, it won’t drop its contents.

And players that were able to complete all challenges from Week 1 and Week 2 will finally be able to collect the Hidden Battle Stars.
