Fortnite Is Adding Bots To Matchmaking Soon

Epic Games have announced that matchmaking will be getting a huge overhaul that will also see the introduction of bots in games.

Matchmaking has been mostly untouched since the Battle Royale mode arrived on Fortnite but the team admits that the “range of player skill has grown considerably” which had led to the need for some changes to matchmaking.

The Arena mode that is currently available already uses Hype-based matchmaking which allows players that are similar to be matched across platforms.

And with the next update, V10.40, improved matchmaking logic will be introduced into the main modes that will help to create “fairer matches”. This means that when players search for a match, they are highly likely to be matched with players of a similar skill. And as you get better, you will go up against better players.

“We will slowly roll this out to all regions across Battle Royale core modes as we test and monitor how it performs. We’re excited to get this out for everyone to play with and will continue to update the system. We’ll update you when it’s fully live across all regions to get your feedback as you try it out.”

That’s not the only improvement though as Bots will be arriving to Fortnite as well. These Bots will behave somewhat similar to players, with Epic hoping that they “help provide a better path for players to grow in skill”. These bots will work alongside the matchmaking logic which means that as you get better and your skill improves, you will be less likely to come across any Bots

Are you looking forward to these changes? Or do you think the addition of Bots is not good? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
