Fortnite Finally Leaves Early Access
Posted Jun 30, 2020 by DarthHazard
Ever since its release in 2017, Fortnite has been utilising the Early Access label for both the Battle Royale and Save the World modes. But a recent announcement has confirmed that this won’t be the case anymore.
Epic Games have officially announced that the Early Access label will be removed from both game modes. Many fans have been expecting Save the World to become free when it finally leave Early Access but this won’t be happening any time soon. It will remain as a premium experience rather than becoming a free-to-play experience similar to the main Battle Royale mode.
Unfortunately for Save the World players, it also means that “development of new content will slow down after this official release”. Founders will have their Founder’s Packs upgraded to the next level and be able to enjoy the rewards in that upgraded pack. Ultimate Edition owners will also be rewarded with the new Metal Team Leader Pack and 8,000 V-Bucks!
“Over the coming months Save the World will no longer be able to support all upcoming Fortnite Battle Royale cosmetic purchases, but your existing library of cosmetics will continue to function in both modes. We’ll let everyone know via the Homebase Status Report when this change will take place.”
For Battle Royale players, they will be able to enjoy the Fortnite Summer Splash 2020. Players will be able to enjoy a rotation of classic LTMs and some new unique ones until the end of Season 3. A whole host of new outfits and items will also be arriving for players to buy.
