Cyberpunk 2077 Will Let You Remove UI With Hardcore Mode

Some gamers like to live life on the edge, and it seems that CD Projekt Red wants to appeal to them by offering a UI-less experience with a “hardcore” mode.

In an interview with Wccftech, Alvin Liu from CD Projekt Red confirmed that there will be a Hardcore setting for interested gamers. Using this setting will turn off the UI which will “be a real challenge for a lot of players”. But it’s not just for those looking to make the game harder. The setting will also be perfect for those looking to enjoy the beautiful graphics of the game without having various UI elements taking up space on your screen.

However, it’s not just the players looking for a challenge that have been catered for. Players looking for a more casual or a shooter-less.

“We want to tell a story and maybe you’re a big fan of The Witcher and you’re not comfortable playing a shooter, we have settings available for that. We even have weapons for that. If you recall from last year’s demo, we had a weapon called the smart gun, which helps you aim. The bullets were much slower and usually a bit weaker. But if your aiming isn’t your forte, you can always pick up the smart gun.”

We also found out a bit about the decision to go with a first person only experience for Cyberpunk 2077. With a first-person view, you “can shoot someone within a second. You pull the gun and you’re immediately shooting people. That to us is really important and really immersive because it feels like danger. It was one of the big reasons why we actually switched from third-person”. You won’t be limited to first-person at all times though as driving (as shown in the demo) will be in third-person with a seamless transition.

Additionally, in case some gamers have issues with nausea or other medical conditions, a Field-of-View(FoV) slider will be available.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC from the 16th of April.

Are you looking forward to playing Cyberpunk 2077? And will you be opting for the Hardcore mode in the game? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
