Cyberpunk 2077 Release Won’t Be Effected By Coronavirus

Posted Mar 16, 2020 by DarthHazard

Fans were disappointed to hear earlier in the year that Cyberpunk 2077 was to be delayed from April 2020 to September 2020. And if fans were worried about the recent panic over Coronavirus, CD Projekt Red has helped ease the panic by sharing a statement.

The message, shared on their official Twitter account, details everything that the company is doing in response to the Coronavirus outbreak. The main action that CD Projekt Red is taking is to ensure that employees can continue to work remotely, from the safety of their homes.

“Many of you are probably wondering how things are at CD PROJEKT RED and how Covid-19 influences our day-to-day operations. Here’s a short update.”

“Over the past week, we have been adapting to the situation and gradually rolling out preventive measures across our entire organisation. We’ve also been upgrading equipment and infrastructure and working towards enabling our employees to work remotely, from the safety of their homes.”

“Today, as a result of that preparation, CD PROJEKT RED switches to full remote work for as long as it is needed. We think this will grant every team member the highest level of personal health safety. And while this all is a bit new to everyone, we are rising to the challenge and showing no signs of stopping in our effort to bring you some kick-ass role-playing action in September”.

Whilst many fans will appreciate the effort the company is taking to look after their own employees, it’s the last sentence of the statement that will be focusing on. Of course, with the long term effects and impact that Covid-19 will have on the gaming industry and the world, we will have to wait patiently to see if it really does not impact the game’s release date.

Are you happy with this statement? Or do you think that the Covid-19 impact will worsen in the coming months? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
