COD MW Update Adds Crossbow, Loadout Slots & Problems

Posted Jan 24, 2020 by DarthHazard

The latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update is here and with it, a crossbow, additional loadout slots and a whole host of new problems have been introduced.

The first minor change is, as usual, a playlist update. Capture the Flag and Shoot the Ship has been introduced as playlists. Aniyah Palace has also returned into the rotation.

With many gamers requesting for it, we have finally got five additional loadout slots for players to create their very own custom loadouts.

And the most interesting addition is the brand-new weapon – a Crossbow. To unlock this weapon, all you have to do is to get 5 kills in 25 different matches using a Marksman Rifle and Reflex Optic. Not too hard but slightly time-consuming.

Unfortunately, lovers of Krovnik Farmland will be sad to hear that it has been taken out of rotation as the team works on a few bugs. These “bugs” are most likely exploits being used by players, similar to the out of bounds exploit on Aniyah Palace that was fixed with this update.

The annoying “bug” that allowed player collision has been fixed. So when you’re near a teammate, you won’t have to worry about them pushing you into the line of fire by walking into you.

The Trophy System has had a few changes made to it. The protection radius has been increased whilst the radius and damage taken by trophy explosions has been decreased.

Whilst, not a huge update, a few of the changes and additions would have kept a lot of fans happy with this update.

Unfortunately, the download size for all platforms was massive even for these small changes. Then there was the issue with some players getting a message saying they had lost everything and had to reset their progress to continue.

And last, of all, there were the changes that didn’t appear in the patch notes. For example, the objective capture bar has been adjusted so that it does not block too much of the centre of the screen. Why would you not put that in the patch notes? Especially considering many fans have been asking for it and it’s a positive change?
