Cloud Saves Arrive For Epic Games Store

Posted Jul 28, 2019 by DarthHazard

The Epic Games Store is finally getting cloud saves but players will have to wait a little while longer to enjoy the function across all games available on the platform.

The platform, still a long way behind its competitors (mainly Steam of course), has finally revealed that cloud save is available for Moonlighter and This War of Mine. Both these titles are currently available to download and play for free as part of Epic’s line-up of free games.

Whilst the ability to save in the cloud is limited to those two games at the moment, players can expect the function to expand to more games in the future with Epic CEO Tim Sweeny confirming that they “have a bit more work to do before rolling it out more widely”.

He later added that “it’s a manual process for the store team per game but it usually doesn’t require developers to update their games” which goes to explain the somewhat added timeline for other games on the platform to get cloud saves.

A timeline of when we can expect more games to get the ability and what specific games will be getting it is yet to be confirmed.

Are you looking forward to having the ability to save in the world on the Epic Games Store? Or is this still not enough features for you to move to the Epic Games Store? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
