Sledgehammer Games has released a huge update for Call of Duty: WWII and with it arrives The Resistance community event.

Update 1.09 adds various different content to the game including new weapons, new game modes, gameplay changes and user interface changes. The update has been released for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One already.

One of the most welcome changes that players will be ecstatic about is to do with the user interface of the game. The "headquarters" tile has finally been moved and the "public match" has been made the first tile in the "Find Match" menu. This was heavily suggested due to many players accidentally entering the Headquarters when they didn't want to.

The update has also "fixed issue where volume of some announcer VO lines in War Mode were louder than intender". This should be good news for players who had to suffer from an overly-loud announcer in the War game mode. Also turned down is the "foley footstep volume, as well as other players' footstep volume". The issue of friendly shellshock impacting player movement has also been fixed although "VFX and screen shake still present".

Arriving alongside the update is The Resistance community event. The event adds a new division - Resistance and two brand new game modes - Demolition and Prop Hunt. Demolition is "a spin on Search & Destroy with respawns available. Faster-paced and more accessible, this classic favourite will return for two weeks during The Resistance". With Prop Hunt, players "will have the opportunity to hide in plain sight as objects, while the enemy team hunts them down".
