Back Button Attachment Introduced For DualShock 4
Posted Dec 17, 2019 by DarthHazard
One feature that has been extremely popular with a lot of third-party PlayStation 4 controllers are back buttons. And now Sony has introduced a special Back Button attachment for the DualShock 4.
This new accessory aims to deliver more “versatility and performance while maintaining the comfort and feel of the DualShock 4 wireless controller you’ve come to love”.
The attachment will add two programmable and highly tactile back buttons to your controller. The buttons can be mapped to up to 16 different actions, including triangle, R1 and R2. It will also provide tactile feedback whilst the integrated OLED display will provide “real time information around button assignments”.
A dedicated button on the attachment will allow you to remap the buttons on the fly. Players will also be able to create and store up to three different profiles for use in different games.
You won’t have to worry about losing your headset port either as there will be a headset pass-through that allows you to connect any 3.5mm wired headset whilst using the attachment.
The attachment will retail at around $29.99 ($39.99 CAD).
Is this attachment something that you will be buying to improve your gaming experience? And what will you map to the added back buttons on your controller?

Never understood the need for even more buttons on the controller. Though it's nice to see an attachment instead of a separate controller you gotta sell an arm and a leg for.
