Whilst Nintendo tends to avoid coming up with solutions for certain glitches in the Animal Crossing series (like the popular time skip cheat), a quick fix was sent as an update yesterday that fixes the item duplication glitch that many players had come across.

The glitch which could be achieved through local co-op allowed players to rotate items which their friends would then pickup and put into their pockets. This would essentially duplicate the item and make it easier to gain access to expensive items.

But that wasn’t the only thing contained in the update. The update helped make way for the games first seasonal event – Bunny Day. The event, which is set to run from the 1^st of April to the 12^th of April, will require players to connect to the Internet and will also mean that players will need to change their date and time on their device to sync with the internet. If not, you won’t be able to take part in events like Bunny Day and the upcoming Earth Day after that.

• Fixed a serious bug affecting game balance.
• To experience seasonal events, download Ver. 1.1.1, then start the software with the main unit connected to the Internet after the start of the event (real time) and set it to "Ver. 1.1.1a" is needed. In addition, in order to set it to "Ver. 1.1.1a", start the software as a user linked with the Nintendo account.
• There is no local communication compatibility with Ver. 1.1.0 or earlier. Please prepare the version of the update data with the person who plays together.

How do I know if my version is updated?

“If the version notation at the top right of the software title screen is "Ver. 1.1.1" or "Ver. 1.1.1a", it has been updated.”
